MPL7-33 is flexible and only 7.5mm diameter transmitter sonde for tracing microduct and other tube blockages. It is very useful when new cables are to be pushed into old ducts, which already have installed cables or other obstacles. MPL7-33 is intended to be used with the cable tracers and pipe locators using the 33kHz tracing frequency

Description

The MPL7-33 construction includes the transmitter unit and battery compartment, which are connected together. The semi-rigid construction helps the device pass tube curves, joints and obstacles easily. This way constructor can validate if ducts are usable for new cables or not. MPL7-33 is intended for ducts having inner diameter of 10mm or more.

Working with MPL7-33

MPL7-33 turns on and starts sending tracing signal when a battery is inserted and the battery compartment is turned to the middle part. The sonde is attached to the tip of a push rod (snake) by its M6 female thread, located at the end of the battery compartment. Alternatively the sonde can be taped to the side of the push rod to reduce risk of damage.

After that the sonde is pushed into the duct. If there is a blockage in the duct, its location can be roughly estimated using the length of the rod and cable & duct maps. After that the exact location of MPL7-33 is traced in the area above ground with a cable tracer receiver. Knowing the exact spot of a blockage considerably saves time and reduces unnecessary digging costs.

There is a blinking red light at the tip of the transmitter indicating transmitter operation. The disposable Lithium battery unit gives energy for approx. 6 hours total usage.

MPL7-33 diameter is 7.5mm and length with mounted battery compartment 114mm.

Transmitter signal

32.768 kHz continuous sinusoidal signal.

NanoSonde MPL4-33, Ø4.6 mm, 33kHz

(0)
NanoSonde MPL4-33 is Vesala’s new, world’s tiniest active sonde for small underground ducts. It is only 4.6 mm in diameter so it is optimal for calibrating 6 mm (inner diameter) fiber optic ducts and to locate their blockages, dents and other problems. MPL4-33 is flexible in the middle so it can navigate tight duct curves down to 170 mm radius.

MicroSonde MPL6-33, Ø6.4 mm, 33kHz

(0)
MPL6-33 is a separate, very small size microduct transmitter sonde. It is intended to be used with the cable tracers and pipe locators using the 33kHz tracing frequency. It is especially suitable for tracing blockages of optical cable’s microducts or for tracing other small non-conductive pipes and sewers. MPL6-33’s diameter is only 6.4mm so it fits into...
